Description

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is advancing an enterprise transformation that transcends traditional IT upgrades to embrace a “One CMS” mindset – a unified operational model that aligns agency components around shared platforms, services, and outcomes. In support of the Administration’s commitment to “Making Health Tech Great Again,” this initiative is engineering a next-generation digital health ecosystem designed to improve outcomes for over 160 million beneficiaries, reduce provider burden, and ensure the highest return on investment for the American taxpayer.

This session will explore how organizational culture, governance, and operational models are evolving to support this vision, moving away from siloed legacy systems toward an integrated enterprise. Panelists will discuss how their teams are prioritizing key IT strategy areas, including claims modernization, AI-native capabilities, the Health Tech Ecosystem, fraud prevention, multi-cloud adoption, cyber defense, data interoperability, and IT workforce development.

This discussion will further examine the challenges CMS faces in advancing these priorities and identify how industry can serve as a strategic force-multiplier in this journey. By maximizing efficiency today, CMS is securing the integrity and sustainability of the American healthcare social safety net, ensuring that these vital programs remain solvent and robust for future generations to come.
