Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping criminal justice, law enforcement, and public safety.

Criminals are increasingly adopting AI technologies, such as adaptive malware and deep-fake tools to execute sophisticated cyberattacks and evade detection while posing significant challenges to public safety. Conversely, law enforcement and public safety agencies leverage predictive analytics and machine learning to analyze vast datasets, identify patterns, and forecast potential criminal behavior, emergencies, and weather-related disasters.

These efforts are further enhanced by the transformative potential of quantum computing which can aid law enforcement and public safety agencies in gaining access to data previously inaccessible, efficiently analyzing these vast datasets, discerning patterns and networks undetectable by classical computers, and developing advanced forensic tools for data recovery and malware analysis. At the same time law enforcement and public safety agencies can take advantage of post-quantum cryptography as a resilient alternative to current encryption methods, ensuring that sensitive law enforcement and public safety data remains secure against quantum threats.

Finally, in turn AI and quantum computing’s capability to automate analytic and other repetitive tasks transforms the employee experience by allowing investigators and public safety personnel to dedicate more time to complex and meaningful work.

As a result, this year's Law Enforcement and Public Safety (LEAPS) Technology Forum will focus on The Intersection of AI, Cyber, and Employee Experience in Law Enforcement and Public Safety

At the 17th annual LEAPS Technology Forum, through keynotes, panel discussions, and breakout sessions, speakers will share valuable insights into how law enforcement and public safety professionals are seeing changes in AI and Cyber within their threat landscapes, how they are taking advantage of these tools to make their jobs easier, and the insights they have on how they are upskilling and supporting the workforce through these changes.
