General for Management and Administration, Chief Information Officer in April 2026. In this capacity, he provides executive leadership to the OIG’s information technology workforce. He is responsible for developing and implementing the agency’s vision for the acquisition and use of information technology by directing a nationwide workforce of IT professionals who deliver IT services, integrate processes, administer systems, secure networks, develop solutions, and provide other mission-aligned support.
Mr. Jenkinson joins the OIG from the US Department of War’s Defense Human Resources Activity, where he most recently served as chief of the Compliance, Training, and Information Division at the Defense Travel Management Office. He was the senior IT and cybersecurity advisor for the Defense Support Services Center, where he built a multi-million-dollar consolidation initiative. At the Defense Manpower Data Center, he led an enterprise-wide Software as a Service transformation, led innovation working groups, and previously served as chief of the Business Requirements, Testing, and Training Branch for the Common Access Card program. Earlier in his federal career, he served as chief of the Production Data Control Section at the US Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to his career in public service, he supported the Census Bureau at IBM, and he was an entrepreneur who provided IT consulting and built digital training platforms used by Fortune 500 firms.
A 2025 FORUM IT-100 Award winner and a finalist for the 2025 GovCIO “Change Driver” Flywheel Award, Mr. Jenkinson is a frequent speaker at industry events on AI and IT modernization. He holds Project Management Professional and ITIL 4 Strategic Leader certifications. Mr. Jenkinson earned his executive certificate in public leadership from Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education, completed the Key Executive Leadership Certificate at American University, and earned his bachelor of science in business management from George Mason University.
