Sridhar (Sri) Mantha currently serves as the Acting Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In this capacity, he leads the agency's Information Technology (IT) strategy, as well as enterprise IT, data management, and cybersecurity strategies within the Office of Digital Transformation. Mr. Mantha brings extensive experience from multiple leadership roles within the FDA. Most recently, he served as Director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) Office of Strategic Programs (OSP), where he oversaw strategy development, program management, advanced analytics, and informatics for CDER's regulatory processes. Prior to that position, he directed the Office of Business Informatics in OSP, leading and coordinating informatics activities across CDER. He also previously served as the center's Associate Deputy Chief Information Officer. Mr. Mantha has consistently delivered transformational leadership in the FDA's technology modernization efforts, demonstrating exceptional ability to manage complex, high-stakes initiatives while driving enterprise-wide change. His most significant achievements include successfully leading the largest IT rollout in CDER history, involving multiple new processes across mission-critical systems with no business disruption, and pioneering the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and generative AI platforms that are setting new standards for regulatory innovation. Since May 2025, he has been leading multiple agency-wide consolidation initiatives and has delivered the FDA's first-ever agency-wide generative AI capabilities with the rollout of Elsa for users across the agency. Mr. Mantha is an accomplished leader with a background in engineering and extensive experience in informatics within the biopharmaceutical industry. Before joining the FDA, he served in various leadership positions in the private sector, with a focus on Clinical and Regulatory Informatics and global operations for post-market surveillance and quality assurance.
