Janusz Wasiolek is the Chief Information Officer at the US Department of Justice, Criminal Division. In this capacity he manages the information technology portfolio supporting the prosecution of many nationally-significant criminal cases, provides policy input on technology and data governance topics, and ensures the Division’s technology and mission are aligned. Previously he was an IT portfolio manager at the Library of Congress, an enterprise and mission systems product owner at the Department of Homeland Security, and a national preparedness analyst and emergency manager at the Federal Emergency Management Agency. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering with a Risk Management Concentration from the George Washington University, and is completing his MBA at Duke University in May 2024. He is also a Certified Emergency Manager, a licensed paramedic, and a seasoned backpacker, cyclist, and sea kayaker.
