Brian Whittaker is the Chief Innovation Officer at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Prior to joining FDIC he was the Director of Design and Development at Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), where he led a team of 45 designers, software developers and product managers who were accountable for the user experience and technical execution of the Bureau’s website and web applications. Brian started hips public service career at the General Services Administration where he held many leadership roles. His leadership experience included roles such as Acting Executive Director of 18F and Deputy Executive Director of IT Modernization Centers of Excellence, where he worked on a variety of projects with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Housing and Urban Development, Office of Personnel Management and Department of Justice. Prior to joining public service, Brian spent 9 years in the private sector as a Senior Consultant and Subcontract Manager. He possesses an MBA from University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York.
