Trent Teyema (FBI Special Agent - SES retired) is the founder and president of CSG Strategies, Inc., a national security consultancy which specializes in the security of cyber, space, technology, and critical infrastructures through policy and practice of risk mitigation. Mr. Teyema has more than three decades in the field of law enforcement, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure protection.
Mr. Teyema retired from the FBI as the Cyber Division's Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief of Cyber Readiness. Mr. Teyema was previously the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Cyber and Counterintelligence Division for FBI Los Angeles. He founded and led the FBI's National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force (NCIJTF). He was twice appointed to cyber security policy roles to include Director for Cybersecurity Policy at The White House during the Bush '43 and Obama '44 Administrations.
He served in numerous senior leadership positions since his retirement, most recently served as the Chief Counter Threat Officer (CCTO) for a commercial space / data technology company; Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a pharmaceutical / bio-technology company; the SVP/ Global Head of Cyber Threat Management in the finance/insurance industry; and the SVP/Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in the defense industrial base.
Mr. Teyema is a Senior Fellow at the MobileCoin Foundation which coordinates and encourages a global community of developers working together to co-create the simplest possible encrypted payments network. He is also a Loomis Council Member at The Stimson Center located in Washington, DC, and formerly a Non-resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council.
Mr. Teyema is also a doctoral candidate in Information technology and cybersecurity at the Marymount University. Mr. Teyema holds a master’s degree in forensic science from the George Washington University, as well as several technical and cybersecurity certifications.
