Riane Harper is a senior counsel and trial attorney in the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of the Criminal Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. She prosecutes computer crime cases around the country and advises on a range of technology policy issues, including cross-border evidence sharing, artificial intelligence in criminal investigations, and electronic evidence. In that capacity, she served as a member of the U.S. delegation to negotiations at the Council of Europe toward a framework convention on artificial intelligence, human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. She graduated from NYU Law and Vassar College.
