Mr. Zeppieri became Chief of ATF Special Operations Division in February of 2022. There, he is responsible for overseeing multiple unique branches and programs that provide tactical and technical support to criminal enforcement and regulatory missions, as well as assistance to other law enforcement agencies. Prior to this assignment, he was the ASAC of the Washington Field Division. As ASAC, he oversaw all ATF criminal enforcement operations for field offices in Virginia and Martinsburg, West Virginia, while promoting crime reduction strategies that relied on crime gun intelligence. Previously, Mr. Zeppieri served at ATF Headquarters in several key leadership roles that included Chief of the Leadership and Professional Development Division and Chief of the Advanced Training Programs Branch. In 2002, Mr. Zeppieri began his ATF career as a special agent in the New York Field Division. From there, he became a group supervisor in New York City, where he earned a 2010 Law Enforcement Leadership Award before transferring to Connecticut, first as RAC of the Hartford Field Office and then the New Haven Field Office. While serving in New Haven, Mr. Zeppieri’s accomplishments were recognized with a 2017 ATF Director’s Award and a 2018 award from the Executive Office of the United States Attorney. Prior to joining ATF, Mr. Zeppieri served as an Immigration Agent with the Immigration and Naturalization Service in New York City. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Fordham University and a Master of Science in Business Analytics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
