Maunank "Mick" Shah is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Substance Abuse and
Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), a branch of the U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services.
In this role Shah leads SAMHSA’s Information Security team, who is responsible for the agency's cyber
security efforts that secure and protect information important to SAMHSA and personal to its customers,
while ensuring the overall cyber resiliency of the agency.
Within Shah’s 22+ years in the technology sector, he has held various roles within Infrastructure /
Operations Services and Information Security providing guidance on Security Design &
Engineering, Security Monitoring, Security Testing, Policy Development, and Program & Project
Management to protect the overall business.
Shah has earned numerous awards working with both public and private sectors. Shah is a graduate of
the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Masters in Engineering Management / Project
Management and a Bachelors in Telecommunications Management.
