As Director, Antigone Dempsey leads Bureau-wide, policy analysis, implementation science, data collection, processing and analysis, program and clinical performance activities, evaluation, and technical assistance, through innovative strategies that support the mission of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. The Division of Policy and Data has five branches, with a budget of over $75 million annually, and 50 staff.
She has significantly improved the productivity, output, and quality through development of public data reports and slides, evaluation studies, policy clarifications, peer reviewed journal articles and clinical quality management technical assistance. After leading organizational and team development activities, Federal Employment Viewpoint Survey scores trended from 40-50 percent positive in 2014 to 80-90 percent in 2019.
Antigone leads high value projects: data dashboards and benchmarking; development of the 2015 and 2020 National HIV/AIDS Strategy, in collaboration with the White House’s Office of National AIDS Policy and the Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy; key member of the HHS-wide Viral Suppression Messaging Workgroup; co-chair of the Federal Implementation Science Workgroup with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes for Health; PLOS Medicine HIV/AIDS Bureau Collection of ten manuscripts; and Senior Sponsor for HIV/AIDS Bureau the HIV and Aging, Behavioral Health, and Voices of People with HIV Workgroups.
