Dr. Nebeker is a practicing geriatrician and national Chief Medical Informatics officer at the Department of Veterans affairs. He is also an (unpaid) professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine. His degrees and training took place at Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania. His research has focused on adverse drug events, EHR user-experience design, and AI approaches to hazard surveillance and process control. Since 2008, he has been a leader in most VA programs for clinical IT and data & analytics systems and served on multiple national health IT advisory committees. He has been a national leader in health IT interoperability with a focus on data lity and healthcare tasks.
