Ms. Chrisma Jackson serves as the Director of Cyber Security and Mission Computing, Chief Information Security Officer. As Director, she leads a diverse organization including enterprise cyber security, high performance computing, Common Engineering Environment, software engineering for Nuclear Deterrence and Sandia Partnership Projects, software security, and cyber and computer science research & development.
Prior to her director position, Chrisma managed Use Control and Special Projects team and the Tailored Operations Support Group at Sandia National Laboratories. These groups directly supported the innovation and development of U.S. Government technologies through the implementation of data protections including, but not limited to high end cryptographic solutions across applications for Nuclear Weapons Command and Control as well as the research, design and development of innovative sensing systems and technical assessments complemented by intelligence-based analysis for nuclear proliferation threats.
With a 20+ year career spanning multiple divisions at Sandia, Chrisma has extensive experience in leading successful teams and building partnerships with the Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA), Department of Defense, and other government agencies in areas such as nuclear nonproliferation, nuclear deterrence, and cybersecurity. Her teams have won DOE/NNSA Defense Programs of Excellence awards and Intelligence Community Meritorious Team Commendations.
Chrisma holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Texas A&M University, a master’s degree from New Mexico Tech University, and spent a year at the Harvard Kennedy School National Security Fellows program from 2014-2015 with a research focus in cybersecurity with an emphasis on cyber deterrence. She currently serves as the Sandia’s Campus Executive for Texas A&M University and Prairie View A&M University.
