Michelle Pfeifer is a management executive with over 25 years of both private and public sector experience in IT solutions delivery. Michelle’s experience spans application delivery and modernization, program management and operations with a focus on customer service for large enterprise environments. Currently, Michelle is the Director of Solutions Delivery and Engineering (SDE) at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) where she leads the operations and management of all mission critical applications. Her management responsibilities include modernization efforts of all systems to support increased cloud adoption and better user experience for the Commission’s stakeholders. In addition, she leads all teams responsible for designing and implementing major upgrades to FERC’s IT infrastructure—both on premises and in the cloud.
Prior to joining FERC, Michelle served as the Branch Chief of the Core Services Branch of the Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A), a management component of the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Michelle supported the needs of 22 component organizations within DHS through management of TS/SCI classified enterprise services across DHS including the improvement and operations of the DHS classified network. Additionally, Michelle’s team spear headed the establishment of a classified AWS cloud environment. Prior to I&A, Michelle served in various roles in Immigration and Customs Enforcement within DHS. Michelle was responsible for various programs ranging from large systems development in an agile environment, to implementing forward leaning technology, to implementing a streamlined maintenance contract for 10 systems critical to ICE operations.
Prior to DHS, Michelle worked 20 years as a management consultant in advancing positions in the private sector delivering a wide range of IT services. Michelle managed teams up to 150 people and managed several customer accounts as a Managing Director.
Michelle graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a concentration in Management Information Systems. Michelle lives in Virginia, has two adult daughters, and enjoys travel.
